Finding a good dealer is upmost important. If you don't feel comfortable with your dealer, and you are not winning anyway, get up and find someone you are comfortable with:

The best thing about land based casino gambling is that you have more than one choice of tables for blackjack. If you are not winning, use your legs to find someplace where you can win. Regardless of what others will say about dealers not influencing the game, anytime YOU feel uncomfortable the game IS being influenced, but only if you allow it to be. Get up and move around, the exercise is good for you, and so might be the change of scenery.

Tipping the dealer is always a good idea when you are winning. It puts them on your side and they will do everything in their power to help you.
